Long thought to be the last of the Dragon Warrior
series, Dragon Warrior IV leaves Erdrick's saga behind to tell a new
tale. You start the game, not as the hero, whom you named, but as a
royal soldier of Burland, Ragnar. The game progresses from chapter
to chapter, until you arrive at the final chapter, "The Chosen
Ones". As the hero, you seek out allies from the previous
chapters: Ragnar, Alena, Cristo, Brey, Taloon, Mara and Nara to assist you
in fulfilling your destiny of defeating the Ruler of Evil.
Dragon Warrior IV introduced several new elements, including the use of a wagon, an AI system, a real casino, and UCs (uncontrolled characters).
