Japanese Release: February 10, 1988 Enix Corporation (Dragon Quest III)

U.S. Release: 1991 Enix America Corporation

Several years have past since your father, Ortega, has been missing.  On your sixteenth birthday, you go before the King of Aliahan to ask to continue your father's journey.  The king agrees, gives you some money, and tells you of the archfiend Baramos. The time has come to find out about Erdrick and his legend.

Dragon Warrior III added the flow of time from day to night, a phoenix to fly on, and the ability to create your own party and later change character classes.  Enix released an enhanced version of this game in December 1996 as Dragon Quest III for the Super Famicom.

Enix Corporation released a Game Boy Color version of Dragon Quest III on December 8, 2000.  Enix America Inc. released this game as Dragon Warrior III (GBC).
