After the Dragonlord's defeat, the hero and Princess Gwaelin left Alefgard in search of new lands. Three kingdoms emerged from their children: Midenhall, Cannock, and Moonbrooke. Peace prevailed in the land for a hundred years, then the evil sorcerer Hargon attacked Moonbrooke Castle. A lone soldier escaped to tell the King of Midenhall of Moonbrooke's defeat. As the crown prince of Midenhall, you must seek out the other descendents of Erdrick in order to defeat Hargon. Dragon Warrior II added multiple monsters in battle, as well as expanded statistics, spells, a ship to sail the seas, and a party of three for the journey. Due to its popularity, Enix released an enhanced Dragon Quest II in December 1993 along with the original Dragon Quest as Dragon Quest I & II for the Super Famicom. In 1999, Enix released a Game Boy Color version of Dragon Quest II. This cart also included the original Dragon Quest. The game was also released on September 21, 2000 as Dragon Warrior I & II in North America. |
