Dragon Warrior was the original RPG for the NES. As the descendant of the hero Erdrick, you have been summoned by King Lorik of Alefgard to obtain the stolen Ball of Light from the evil Dragonlord. After many trials and adventures, the hero enters Charlock Castle to face his destiny.

Primitive by today's standards, Dragon Quest was so popular in Japan that in December 1993, a remix of Dragon Quest I & II was released for the Super Famicom.

Dragon Quest I & II were also released in Japan for Game Boy Color in 1999.  Enix America announced plans to release Dragon Warrior I & II for Game Boy Color in April 2000.
