Dragon Quest VIII is the first
DW/DQ game
to be released by SQUARE ENIX
in North America since the merger. It also is the first title to
abandon the name Dragon Warrior and stay with the original Japanese name
of Dragon
Quest. The North American release includes a demo disk for
Final Fantasy XII, part of SQUARE ENIX's other flagship title series. Along with the release of Dragon Quest VIII, come slime controllers for PS2, also designed by Yuji Horii.
